Bakırhan expressed hope that any call from Öcalan would be delivered in a video format, emphasizing that a visual communication would lend credibility and sincerity to the message. “We wish for it to be in a visual format to make it more trustworthy and convincing. However, this is ultimately a decision that will be made in collaboration with the government and Öcalan. I believe a solution will be found,” he stated. In response to Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç’s comments about the legal framework not permitting a video communication, Bakırhan remarked, “In this country, the legislation is bent on many issues. I say let’s find a formula for such a historical call. I believe a solution will be found.” This indicates his optimism despite legal hurdles that may exist.

On the subject of the timing of this anticipated call, Bakırhan confirmed that a call will indeed happen, but refrained from specifying any dates. He was asked whether there had been an application for the third meeting related to Öcalan; to which he responded, “These are technical legal matters, an application has indeed been made. However, I cannot comment on it further on behalf of our committee.”
